A work profile with a strong sense of responsibility and dignity is AME. Basically, an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) is a licensed individual who certifies an aircraft or one of its components as airworthy prior to the aircraft being put into operation. Stated differently, an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer performs and verifies significant overhauls and repairs of aircraft, power plants, and their accessories prior to the aircraft being released into service.

The Aviation related training can be classified into two prominent branches- the Flying Branch and the Engineering Branch. The flying branch had always been the better known of these two branches. We know of pilots who are responsible for flying the aircraft, but the lesser known are the Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AMEs) who are behind the machine‟s airworthiness.

AMEs are dedicated to keeping the aircraft in a safe and airworthy condition. For every aircraft you see in flight, there are AMEs back in the hangar who have worked to ensure that the aircraft is safe to fly.
